Mam problem z dopasowaniem właściwej rozdzielczości. Z Windowsa przesiadłem się właśnie na Debiana 7. Najwyższa proponowana rozdzielczość to 1024x768, a chciałbym pracować na 1280x1024. Karta graficzna zintegrowana Intel 82915G/GV/910GL. Proszę o wyrozumiałość, bo zaznajamiam się dopiero z Linuxem.

Na swojej nowej instalacji też z tym walczyłem i wywalczyłem :)
Robi się to tak:
1. Przy pomocy polecenia gtf generujesz ustawienia dla danej rozdzielczości i częstotliwości odświeżania. Np. jeśli chcesz ustawić rozdzielczość 1280x1024 i częstotliwość odświeżania 75 Hz to dajesz polecenie:
gtf 1280 1024 75.00
To polecenie wygeneruje ci coś na kształt:
1280x1024 @ 75.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 55.83 kHz; pclk: 106.29 MHz Modeline "1280x1024_75.00" 106.29 1440 1520 1672 1904 900 901 904 932 -HSync +Vsync
2. Kopiujesz sobie wszystko to co jest po Modeline (razem z cudzysłowami) i teraz dajesz polecenie xrandr, aby nauczył się tego rodzaju rozdzielczości: WAŻNE: Nie kopiuj dokładnie tego co tu wkleiłem po Modeline, bo to jest dla zupełnie innej rozdzielczości - wklej to co ci wygeneruje polecenie gtf.

3. Następnie każesz xrandr dodać tę rozdzielczość do wyjścia na twój monitor (VGA1):
xrandr --addmode VGA1 1280x1024_75.00
4. Następnie każesz xrandr ustawić tę rozdzielczość na wyjście na twój monitor:
xrandr --output VGA1 --mode 1280x1024_75.00
Jeśli zadziała (a powinno, jeśli nie to znaczy, że coś źle powklejałeś w polecenia) rozdzielczość monitora zmieni się na zadaną. Przy pomocy xrandr można też ustawić jasność (brightness) i gamma.
Ponieważ po każdym wyłączeniu komputera musiałbyś wydawać te komendy od nowa wygodnie jest zrobić sobie prosty skrypt w bashu i dodać w nim te trzy komendy (2. 3. 4.) oraz ustawić jego wykonywanie przy logowaniu. Dzięki temu po każdym włączeniu komputera rozdzielczość ustawi się automatycznie na żądaną wartość.

A jak koneicznie chcesz odpalać przy starcie, to wszystkie środowiska graficzne mają jakąś wersję autostartu, w
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/
też można skrypta wsadzić, żeby ustawiał, co trzeba.
Można też dopisać w konfigu:
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
i też będzie działało dla całego systemu.
Takze w ogóle nie czaję, po co Cron, jak Xorg ma calkiem pokaźną liczbę własnych uchwytów funkcji.

Widzę, że tam brakuje rozdzielczości 1280x1024, ale jak to zmienić. A jeżeli już nawet zmienię, to czy mi znowu taka ciekawa informacja o moim CRT(?) nie wyskoczy;)

W terminalu te polecenia działają?
Jeśli tak, to w takim wpisie też powinny, ale musisz sprawdzić.
Tutaj nie odpowiem jednoznacznie, bo mam Nvidię, i wsio ustawiam przez nvidia-settings.

W terminalu bez problemu mogę takim wpisem rozdzielczość zmienić.
Ale w xinitrc to dopisanie nic nie zmienia. Dalej monitor się odpala w domyślnych debianowych ustawieniach.

Ja bym na Twoim miejscu zrobił sobie plik konfiguracyjny xorg.conf i w nim ustawił co trzeba.
Poza tym, czy masz jakieś środowisko graficzne? i czy ono ma możliwosc autostartu jakichś skryptów?
Bo jeśli tak, to:

Nie mam Gnome, ale autostart możesz chyba ustawić w Start -> System -> Preferencje -> Sesje. Dodaj tam sobie ścieżkę do tego skryptu z trzema komendami xrandr.
Możesz też wywołać te ustawienia w terminalu wpisując gnome-session-properties i tam dodać skrypt.

Przez terminal wszedłem do autostartu. Dodałem ten skrypt i... nic. Czy ten skrypt musi mieć jakieś uprawnienia? Loguję się jako użytkownik, a nie root.
